System Center OpsMgr 2007 users now have access to a new management pack from Microsoft that makes it easier to discover and diagnose problems with WS2008 in the Application Servers role. The pack sifts through WS2008 event logs to zero in on and coordinate between events for the Application Server role. The pack includes monitors, rules, views, tasks, knowledge, and reports. Microsoft says that the management pack will help uncover events that indicate configuration problems or could otherwise lead to an outage.
If you are an OpsMgr 2007 user playing with Windows Server 2008, the management pack might make a handy addition to your arsenal.
