Things are usually pretty busy around here, and this month particularly so – I’ve got client projects in Silicon Valley and Seattle, the Interop NY/Mobile Business Expo and IT Roadmap Dallas conferences, two new articles on WLAN network management (and a chat on this on the 26th – details to follow) appearing shortly in Network World, new publications on fingerprint recognition technology and applications, and unified communications in healthcare almost done (links posted here when they’re available), a webinar in October on mobile device management (just getting started on that one, along with another webinar on the future of wireless LANs, and sessions at the Mobile Internet World conference), and the usual columns right here, on Computerworld.com, and SearchMobileComputing.com. Believe it or not, I’m happiest and most productive when I’m really busy, the benefits of a combination of workaholism and ADD. And, as you can probably tell, I love working in this field and consider it a privilege to be able to do so.
Anyway, the phone’s probably not the best way to reach me, but it rang yesterday afternoon. To paraphrase just a little:

“Speaking”
“Oh, hi, I really enjoyed your article on phased arrays at Network World, and I have a question.”
“Sure, how can I help?”
“Well, I was just wondering, do you have enough ink and toner? We’ve got some really great deals and…”
