For starters, this month’s Patch Tuesday will include six flaws rated critical and three flaws rated important. That’s happening August 14. The critical flaws affect many versions of Windows including Windows XP and Windows Server as well as XML Core Services, Visual Basic, Office, Office for Mac and Internet Explorer. Read more.
Meanwhile Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine is reporting that the Vista fixes that were available last week, then disappeared, will also be formally out on Tuesday.
The story says:
“The fixes are expected to be a part of what will ultimately be Vista SP1, an upgrade Microsoft has been strangely reluctant to discuss with the public or the media. The updates are currently available at a Windows download site, and a Microsoft statement said they will be available through Windows Update `at a later date.'”
