Last week Microsoft reached an important milestone by announcing the release of the latest technology preview for SQL Server 2008. The November CTP of SQL Server 2008 is packed with a myriad of new features and functionality which was not included in the previous CTP release.
Some of the much awaited new features since the July CTP release consist of the following: Partitioned Aligned Indexed Views, Analysis Services enhancements, Reporting Services enhancements, Integration Services enhancements, DMF enhancements, T-SQL IntelliSense, Change tracking, Service Broker enhancements, Data Collections and Performance Warehousing for the database engine, Fully Parallel Plans Scale on Partitioned Tables, Plan Freezing, Backup Compression, Resource Governor, and Transparent Data Encryption. In addition, the November CTP allows for tighter integration with VISTA and Windows Server 2008 readiness.
