Last month we couldn’t help but note (because I drive by it every day) a billboard extolling the virtues of the recent Microsoft/Novell “Bipartisan Computing” partnership. (Paid for by the newly minted couple, naturally.)
Seems I’m not the only one to take such note. Driving to work today I see this message plastered on the billboard directly opposite and across the highway from the first one:
Take that Gates … and, you too, Hovsepian, I think. (Translating Shakespeare has never been a strong suit.)

Anyway, at first I thought it strange that The Bard — dead almost 400 years — would have an opinion about today’s technology industry, even though it brims with the same themes he practically invented. But it turns out that Shakespeare has an inner blogger. Forthwith, a taste:
On the iPhone:
“If music, mobile phone and ‘Net access be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfing,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.”
On the trademark battle between Apple and Cisco:
“What’s in a name? That which we call an iPhone by any other word would sell tout de suite.”
On the illegal backdating of stock options:

On Google buying YouTube:

though I’m hard-pressed to cite an example.”
On reports that SCO may be nearing bankruptcy:

On Microsoft’s business practices:

On the director’s leak that launched the HP spy scandal:

On all the interviews granted by Patricia Dunn, former HP chairwoman indicted over her role:
“The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”
(Note to self: Come up with something more original; you’re Shakespeare.)
