Hasn’t this been a whirlwind 2 weeks or so for Dell?
First, there was the utterance from the piehole of Mikey that online only sales were “not a religion”, meaning that he was not emphatically opposed to using the channel to push his stuff.
To which I said, “About time. However, I’m not having any of it, since your (Dell’s) prior forays into the channel were only for the harvesting of VAR’s client lists”. IMO.
Today comes the Next Big Thing: Dell to preload systems with Ubuntu.
Is this guy/company joking?
This is the way Dell is going to regain the attention of customers and clients disaffected by the utter lack of customer service and support?
I thought the company was on the mend, but I guess after he sells several tens of Ubuntu notebooks, Brother Man is going to realize that, “Dude, it IS basic customer service and competent technical support” that customers want!
My previous takes on this topic are here, here, and here.
