Free version of Maya 3D tool available

At Macworld, Alias/Wavefront announced the availability of Maya 4.5 Personal Learning Edition, a free version of the company’s 3D animation tool. Maya 4.5 PLE contains most of the features found in the commercial edition, but is for non-commercial use only. Presentations are watermarked and non-commerical file format is used to save projects. However, this latest edition of the free tool does have expanded file import options, including the ability to import from the commercial Maya version.
