Testing equipment maker Spirent Communications’ new 5.0 software release for its Avalanche/2200 and Avalanche/SmartBits systems now support Windows Media Format. The Avalanche products can used to simulate real-world network conditions, up to 1.4G bytes/sec, in a lab. With 5.0, Spirent now supports the three major streaming media type: Windows Media, Real and QuickTime. The 5.0 release will be available in about a month.
