RealNetworks has signed a deal to incorporate its Helix delivery system into Ericsson’s Content Delivery Solution used by mobile network operators. With Helix embedded into the network, users will be able to view RealMedia content on their 3G handsets once the service is rolled out. Microsoft has signed a number of similar deals so it’s good to see Real battling hard in the mobile space as well.
Also, for the golf fans out there, Real has signed a deal with the PGA to offer TOURCast Plus, a stand-alone subscription service that allows fans to track each shot in a given tournament, beginning with this weekend’s Nissan Open.
