VBrick will soon begin shipping a new appliance for converting and streaming MPEG-4 video over a network. The new VBXcast can connect to just about any video source, including a VCR, DVD player or video camera. It encodes into MPEG-4 in real-time and delivers it across an IP network. Applications can include distance learning, surveillance and delivering TV channels to desktop users over the existing data network. Any MPEG-4 compatible player or VBrick’s own StreamPlayer can be used to view the video. VBXcast will be available April 1, 2003 with a starting price of $4,995.
