HP is expanding its line of Media Center PCs with two new models. The Media Center, you may recall, is more for the living room than the office, with high end audio and video capabilities centered around Microsoft’s XP Media Center Edition, all designed to serve your multimedia needs. The biggest feature of the new models (864n and 854n), besides added memory and horsepower, is the ability to record live TV and burn the recordings to DVD using new Sonic MyDVD software. It’s taking TiVo and ReplayTV one step further. Also, users get a free programming guide, rather than paying $10 a month for a service. Both new models will be available in popular electronics stores with the 854n priced at $1,399 and the 864n at $1,699.
