VBrick made good on its promise to deliver an appliance capable of encoding and delivering an MPEG-4 stream with this week’s release of VBXcast. The relatively small appliance can take input from a video camera, DVD player or VCR and encode on the fly into MPEG-4, with video rates ranging from 8K bit/sec up to 2M bit/sec using unicast or Multicast technology. VBXcast is available for $4,995.
