A flaw in RealNetworks Helix Universal Server 9, RealSystem Server 8 and 7, and RealServer G2 could be used by a remote user to gain root access on the affected machine. The flaw has been know for some time, but ComputerWire is reporting an exploit is now available. A patch is not yet available from RealNetworks, but a workaround is: Remove the “View source plug-ins” from the “plug-ins” directory then restart the server.
