With RealNetworks claiming its Rhapsody service is streaming over 500,000 songs per day and news that the RIAA has filed federal suits against 261 alleged file traders, Virgin Megastores seems to have picked the perfect day to give users another option for buying legal music. Its new download as you go site charges users around 95 cents a song, which are available in Windows Media Audio format. (A bummer for those of us with portable players that only support MP3.)
