Microsoft yesterday released Windows XP Media Center 2004, the latest version of its operating system designed to drive home entertainment. The new release features support for FM radio playback from the remote with the added bonus of a Tivo-like recording feature. Listeners can jump back seven seconds or pause a program to answer the phone. Microsoft also added the ability to copy a CD to a PC using the remote and enhanced some of the photo viewing features. In addition to the new OS, Microsoft announced Dell and Sony will join Gateway, HP and Toshiba in making special Media Center PCs. Those users that have the original XP Media Center release can get an upgrade to 2004.
