I don’t usually mention to many partnership announcements, but this one struck me as being kind of cool (if you think search is cool). Convera announced this week that it will be embedding Nexidia’s audio-video search technology into its RetrievalWare search and categorization offering. This will allow RetrievalWare users to search for specific audio and video files using a phonetic text-based search. Nexidia’s piece is able to find spoken word based on the text input. A pretty cool function if you’ve got tons of media files piled up and you’re looking for a specific clip.
