In any line of work, training is one of the keys to employee happiness. WebEx is trying to help deliver training more cost effectively by building add-on features to its existing Web conferencing service that is synomous with online meetings. Training Center has been around since 2002, but now the company is enhancing it by offering better tracking and reporting mechanisms, APIs for tying into existing backend systems, and the ability to accept payment for training for those companies looking to turn training from a cost center to a potential profit center. There’s also some new features like an “over-the-shoulder” view that can be used in a virtual lab environment. Far flung students can use applications running in a local PC lab and the instructor can see what each student is doing as if they were sitting in the room.WebEx offers various pricing levels for Training Center, thought the most common is a 10-concurrent user, unlimited usage model for $2,250 per month.
