Burst cries foul

Burst.com is crying foul to the judge in its lawsuit against Microsoft over Redmond’s “practice” of purging e-mail older than 30 days. Burst developed a technology that makes the delivery of streaming media more efficient. Instead of delivering the stream to a recipient at a constant bitrate, Burst would use all the available bandwidth to cache the clip locally, meaning the entire clip may be download prior to the viewer seeing the end of the video. Burst claims it showed this technology to Microsoft and it later showed up in Windows Media Player without the proper licensing. Microsoft borrowing an idea? Noooo. Anyhow, my guess is Microsoft will just continue to drag this out in court until Burst goes away.
