They’ve done it again! A new iPod!

At 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches and 1.5 ounces with a 1.5-inch color LCD display and a 14 hour battery life, the iPod nano is definitely a cool piece of engineering and according to an Arstechnica articlecompletely replaces the iPod mini.”

Available in either 2GB or 4GB capacities ($199 and $249 respectively) the nano, which is completely solid state, can store up to 1,000 songs along with full-color album art or up to 25,000 photos (let’s hope that’s really 25,000 photos unlike Apple iPhoto’s version of storing 25,000 images).

Apple also announced a phone with built-in iPoddishness, the Motorola ROKR (yep, it’s not that radical) that “can only hold about 100 songs” because it only has 512KB of memory. It’s available from Cingular for $249.99. Big deal.

Oh yeah, there’s also a version 5 release of iTunes out. Yawn.
