This IT guy had an all-together different idea of how to spend government money.
The Department of Justice today said James Troy Clark, 51, of Fredericksburg, Va., an IT specialist with the National Science Foundation plead guilty this week to theft of government property totaling more than $90,000.
The DoJ said while Clark was responsible for purchasing information technology supplies and services for his office at NSF using government-issued purchase cards, he rather used the cards to buy electronic goodies for himself and others.
The DoJ said between 2010 and July 2013, Clark bought cell phones and the attendant monthly service charges for those phones; multiple laptop computers and tablets; thousands of dollars in movies, music, and other content from the Apple iTunes store; and numerous other electronic devices and accessories to the tune of $94,493.
Clark faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on Feb. 21, 2014, the DoJ said
