Over the summer I wrote of a remarkably dishonest online dating service called JLove. Much attention ensued, and JLove quickly discontinued one particular shady practice. Today, however, I heard from a JLove member with a different kind of problem. She’s in the classic situation of having been approached by a too-good-to-be-true guy,* and she wants to alert JLove that he is Not Who He Appears To Be. However, she tells me that she’s tried all email address and contact forms on JLove’s site, and all are bouncing.
*Why she believed in the first place that he was a great-looking Jewish doctor doing undercover spy work halfway around the world is, of course, a whole other matter. Still, a dating service that bothers to keep its web site up should at least offer some kind of responsiveness when their members do bad things.
Is anybody home? Are the JLove folks even trying to do the right thing? Is there a way to reach them?
