What are the best IT certifications to earn and/or maintain? There are so many certifications these days each with their own devoted set of certification holders proclaiming the importance of this particular certification. While there are a large number of certification vendors and certifications, there are some that immediately come to mind for most IT folks.
I saw a list of the other day of one person’s thoughts as to the 10 best IT Certifications (https://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=11189) . In this list of the top ten certifications, four of them are Microsoft Certifications – quite an achievement wouldn’t you say? Here are the certifications that made the top 10: #1 MCITP, #2 MCTS, #4 MCPD and #8 MCSE/MCSA. These certifications cover a number of the Microsoft Certification areas (yeah, I know, no sign of MCDBA anywhere right?). Note that the MCITP and MCTS were not product specific, but rather were based on the concept behind the certifications and the target audience for them.
There is no doubt that the certifications offered by Microsoft have a great deal of value (especially the new Microsoft Certified Master Certification as well as the new Performance based testing). It is nice to see this validation come from another source as well!
