Cisco released patches to two security holes: one affecting Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and the other affecting Cisco Security Manager. Voice services in CUCM could be interrupted as a result of a denial-of-service attack of the product’s Certificate Authority Proxy Function (CAPF) service, according to Cisco. In the other alert, Cisco said hackers could open TCP ports on both the Cisco Security Manager server and IPS Event Viewer client by exploiting a vulnerability in Security Manager. The attacker could gain access to MySQL databases or the IEV server as a result.
