If you’re in Tampa this weekend for Super Bowl, your every move will be monitored by authorities presiding over Microsoft Surface. ESponder, a Microsoft partner that provides “real time situational awareness” gear to local, state and federal agencies, said it will connect onsite and remote authorities, “allowing them to remotely track all activities in real time with mapping as well as 3-D displays, 2-way radio integration and immediate communication.”
According to the ESponder news release:
Tampa Incident Command staff will use ESponder portal to visualize all aspects of the Super Bowl activities. The Microsoft Surface device will display a Microsoft Virtual Earth map of the entire region tracking events, incidents, resources and tasks in real-time using its unique large display, multi-user, multi-touch and interactive capabilities, also allowing it to communicate with remote devices and PCs. With a quick hand-gesture, the map can zoom in and display a 3D image of the city, including detailed views of buildings and streets and real time resource tracking.
