If a politician can win elections by kissing babies, maybe Microsoft can win fans by featuring in its commercials an adorable four-year-old editing photos? No question the commercial is cute. And it might have the power to persuade. Note that Kylie is clicking on written photo editing links even though most kids aren’t developmentally ready to read before the first grade. The subtle context here is that Windows helps your kid to be a genius, so families should use it and not that nasty Mac. Or maybe the company is trying to appeal to four-year-olds with disposable income.
Not sure if cute kids can erase Microsoft’s dismal image with the consumer. Only Windows 7, if it works flawlessly, can do that, only if enterprises adopt it so that consumers can gain positive experiences with it at work.
