Last year, I was honored to be awarded the Network Professional Association Award for Professionalism Professional Excellence and Innovation – Corporate Fortune X.
The NPA is an independent, professional network industry group that utilizes local chapters of members to facilitate social contacts, publish articles, and set standards and a code of ethics for members. The NPA administers the Certified Network Professional (CNP) international designation program, which is a vendor-neutral networking professional designation. I was awarded the Award for Professionalism last year for my work and my team’s work on network templates, network architecture, and enterprise MPLS design.
Nominations are now open for this year’s NPA Awards for Professionalism. You can nonimate yourself of someone else in the form of a written position statement by April 13, 2009. If you have done something really extraordinary this last year, I encourage you to take the opportunity to recognize yourself. External awards are a great accomplishment by themself and look even better to current and future employers. If you are a manager and one of your engineers has done something great this year, take the time to nominate him or her. Plus, there’s a really nice prize pack awarded to the winners. 😉 Good luck!
