Search terms are getting longer

This makes sense when you give it any thought: The more stuff that piles up on the Internet, the more difficult it becomes to find what you want with simple one, two or three-word search terms.

More than half of search terms are now at least three words, reports Search Engine Land, which adds: “The takeaway point here is that the so-called long tail of search continues to get longer. As searchers get more sophisticated in how they use Google, Yahoo, Live Search, etc., it opens up more opportunities for webmasters and marketers to create content and/or ads that captures these longer search queries.”
