Ron Nutter’s Job Hunt: Day 7 — Gearing up for the long haul

Checked CareerBuilder and Dice this morning. Found 4 jobs on CareerBuilder and applied for them. Looked at Dice. Nothing new there that I didn’t see on CareerBuilder. The frustrating thing is that some of the job postings are somehow being changed so they appear to be new even though they have been on the board for several days. Fortunately, Dice keeps track that you have already applied for the position. I used to see that ability on CareerBuilder, haven’t seen it lately.Didnt hear anything from the folks I have talked to so far. I know that finding a new position wont be a quick one. I have started looking for contract employment options as a temporary solution but those are even hard to find. I have been amazed by the emails from recruiters that I have been getting pitching positions to me that are three hours or more away from where I am. My profiles on CareerBuilder and Dice specifically mention Kansas City metro area only.
