We have three topics this week. First, reader James Curcurato wrote in to ask about Process Explorer, one of the topics of a recent column, “Polishing Windows.” Curcurato’s question was essentially, how do you replace Task Manager with Process Explorer? The answer is easy – when Process Explorer is running go to Options and select “Replace Task Manager.” Process Explorer will now appear whenever Task Manager would have.

Outlook Primed for DST – Dumb Code to the Fore
I just tried set an appoint for 2AM this coming Sunday and as my Microsoft updates are up to date Outlook complained: “This time is not valid due to daylight savings time.” There’s a peculiarly logical illogic to “errors” such as this. We all know the time, 2AM, is valid so what the MS programmers really meant was “we can’t support this time because our code isn’t that smart.” Sad.
Virtual Bumper Stickers
I’m a big fan of bumper stickers. They often show deep insights and great wit in just a single line — one of my current favorites is “Somewhere in Texas a village is missing its idiot.”
