So we were discussing our wobbling office last week, which we discovered with the help of Microsoft MapPoint 2006 with GPS Locator. This curious phenomenon was caused by a continuously changing GPS positional error rather than our office really being physically unstable.

Backspin: Updating CAN SPAM
I wasn’t enthusiastic when CAN SPAM (otherwise known as the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing Act, a laborious backronym if there ever was one) was made into law in 2003. It didn’t appear to have sufficient teeth to do the job and the feds were hardly in a position to prosecute more than a handful of the most egregious cases.

In Gearhead this week we continue our GPS perambulations and we have a question: Has Microsoft Word’s spelling checker ever just stopped working for you? Ours has. Before you ask, we did check under Tools | Options | Spelling & Grammar and every choice is correctly set and we’ve rebooted. Twice. Any ideas? Anyone?
