Lots of video game news is breaking this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, but regular technology companies are getting into the act as well. Memory card maker SanDisk today announced a few new memory cards, including a 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo card.
New HP campaign gets ‘personal’
I’ve been told that in order to get people to read your blog, you have to get cranky, so here goes… Apparently the computer is personal again, as if the P in PC suddenly lost its original definition. I was reminded of this by HP, which is spending “several hundred million dollars” in a global marketing campaign to remind the world that “The Computer is Personal Again.”
Toshiba notebook includes high-def DVD drive
For those who argue that there’s nothing exciting or innovative in notebooks anymore, we present the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV650, the first notebook in the U.S. to include a high-definition DVD-ROM drive and other wicked cool features. If anyone can get their boss to buy this notebook for them at work, I want to work at your company.
Project PSP content onto a TV
During my last trip on Network World’s Mobility & Wireless Technology Tour, I wanted to show a colleague the game I was playing on my PlayStation Portable (PSP). Instead of having him crowd around me, we wanted to project the image through the projector onto the large screen in the conference room. Alas, three weeks the technology wasn’t available for us to do this, but now it is.
