Palm’s new Treo
When Palm launched its Treo 700w smart-phone a few months ago, many believed the company was abandoning the Palm operating system in favor of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system. Today, the company helps allay these fears with the announcement of the Treo 700p, which uses the Palm operating system (Version 5.4.9) and can operate on the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) EV-DO high-speed wireless network. Pricing and availability of the 700p will be announced later by carriers, Palm says.
