Regular readers know that I’m a big fan of the free electronic books from Realtime Publishers – I like them so much I’ve even written a couple.

They are each sponsored by a vendor, and there is certainly a hope that readers of a book will feel disposed to investigate the sponsor’s products, but I can tell from my own experience that there’s no pressure to talk in glowing terms about any of the sponsor’s products. Each book is sponsored by a company whose area of expertise coincides with the topic, but that’s about the extent of the “stealth marketing” involved.

If you haven’t tried one of these tomes yet, you should. While nothing is perfect for everybody, there’s got to be at least one title in publisher Sean Daily’s list that can be of benefit to you. Among the chapters just published this month, the following may be of interest:

* “Automating Network Compliance and Security,” from “The Shortcut Guide to Automating Network Management and Compliance”

* “Data Path Optimization for Enterprise File Serving,” from “The Definitive Guide to Building Highly Scalable Enterprise File Serving Solutions”

* “Multi-dimensional Enterprise-Wide Security,” from “The Definitive Guide to Security Inside the Perimeter”

* “Disaster Recovery with Exchange,” from “The Definitive Guide to Exchange Disaster Recovery and Availability”

There’s also one new book you might look into: “The Tips and Tricks Guide to Software Security Assurance,” in which author and security expert Kevin Beaver addresses a broad range of software security topics and provides practical guidance on software development and security testing practices, techniques, and tools. This guide’s overall goal is to help software and security professionals improve software quality by reducing the number of security vulnerabilities in the software they are producing.

There are perhaps only a few of you who need to (or want to) read all of these books, but I’m sure there’s at least one eBook from Realtime Publishers that can help you. Find it, read it, learn from it.
