LATEST COOL TOOLS COLUMN: Sony launches video service

For years, companies have tried different approaches to get people to add video to their phone calls. The latest effort is from Sony and Glowpoint, which last week launched a consumer version of Sony’s Instant Video Everywhere (IVE, pronounced “ivy”) service. The basic IVE service will let consumers make free, unlimited voice and video calls to other IVE members. Think Skype with the addition of a Webcam.
