Can I share one of my Windows applications from an XP workstation with other Windows computers over the Internet?

Can I share one of my Windows applications from an XP workstation with other Windows computers over the Internet?

One way to do this is to use the Remote Desktop features in Windows XP by enabling the “Allow other users to connect to this computer” feature under the Remote tab of the System applet found in the Control Panel.

Then Windows computers with the remote desktop client can connect and log on to your XP machine over the network. You can download the client software for older versions of Windows (https://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp). Once installed, you will find the remote desktop client under the Communications section of the Accessories menu.

Another way is to use the VNC (https://www.realvnc.com/) package, available under the GNU public license. To connect to the remote desktop with either method, run the client application and enter the remote host name or IP address. Once logged on, you have a copy of the remote desktop in a window on your PC. VNC offers cross-platform support.

A browser-based offering is available (https://www.gotomypc.com/), which delivers the remote desktop connection through a standard HTTPS SSL connection.
