It’s hard to separate fact from fiction now that the politicians are getting heavily involved in the offshoring debate. Last Friday influential Federal Reserve Chairman Allan Greenspan told a congressional committee that restricting the current offshoring movement with new laws and regulations would ultimately be a mistake for the U.S. economy. President Bush agrees, sometimes, arguing that protectionist measures will hurt the economy. But he’s under a lot of pressure from politicos in hard-hit states such as Ohio, California and South Carolina to get behind their efforts to curb offshoring. Meanwhile Sen. John Kerry, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, is now promising to look at the situation but says he wants to make an effort to keep jobs in the U.S.

Sears chooses CSC for IT outsourcing
