* NetScaler tests acceleration of Oracle applications, joins Oracle partner program NetScaler last week said it could improve the performance of Oracle E-Business Suite applications by up to 52%, and announced it would join Oracle’s partner network.NetScaler based that claim on tests of its 9000 Series of appliances. The performance improvements were observed by measuring response times for dynamic and static content requests sent from client PCs via remote access to application servers running Oracle E-Business Suite applications.Key elements of NetScaler’s Request Switching architecture include compression and TCP optimization technologies.NetScaler makes network devices that integrate application-level (Layer 7) security and traffic management. The company says the Oracle partnership will help the company continue to build out its Model of Application Intelligent Networking. MAIN is NetScaler’s recently announced plan to deliver a set of capabilities for secure application networking. Through MAIN and the recently upgraded 9000 Series, NetScaler says its customers can leverage Secure Socket Layer VPN functionality to securely deliver business-critical applications over the Internet and private networks.With membership in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, NetScaler says it will have access to the Oracle9i services as well as other Web-based resources that can help the company design tools to improve the performance of Oracle applications. The Oracle PartnerNetwork is a global business network of more than 12,000 companies that deliver enterprise solutions based on Oracle software.
