Talked with Terry Jones at Allied Global Services. He gave me a little more information about the prospective client. They are in the financial services industry. He asked for references to call before presenting me to the client. I made an appointment to have a meet and greet with him at 1p.m. Friday.
Checked the job boards. Nothing new that I am qualified for.
Had a second interview at the engineering firm that I talked with last week. This time, I sat down before a panel of 7 people from the different departments. I would be working with these people if I got the job.
The questions were not technical, but along the lines of how would I handle a particular situation. For example, I was asked what I would do if I fixed/resolved a problem in less time than I told people it was going to take.
I was asked similar questions from everyone in the group. It wasn’t a rapid-fire situation, but I was thrown one question after the next, so it was a test of how I would think on my feet.
I finished up the 1-hour, 45-minute session with a meeting with the HR director. The benefits package they laid out before me was almost unbelievable. If you could handle a $1,000 deductible, you could have good healh insurance with no deduction from your salary. Hopefully they will be making their decision in the next few days and I will know my fate. I was one of three people called back in for a second interview.
Day 18
Got an email from Terry Jones at Allied Global Services. The client has cancelled the interview appointment since I don’t have any experience with the newly announced Cisco 7000 platform and don’t have any experience with the particular type of communications equipment used in the financial services industry.
Nothing new on the job boards.
