We all know which political position John Chambers leans towards but did you know that Cisco’s top legal eagle Mark Chandler is co-chair of Lawyers for Hillary and has donated more than $200,000 to Democratic candidates and committees? He also has helped line up active support from lawyers in 73 firms across the country and around a dozen in-house counsel, according to a story in Legal Times. The article says that Chandler first met Hillary in January 2007 at a restaurant in D.C. and she impressed him with her knowledge of the issues facing tech companies.
Chandler isn’t the only Cisco employee to deposit into the Hillary coffers. Other workers have donated $94,100 to the Clinton campaign, reports Legal Times.
Meanwhile Chambers has been joined by Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina to John McCain’s campaign. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, outgoing eBay CEO Whitman is “quietly exploring the possibility of a 2010 run for California.”
Early last year, McCain tapped Chambers to serve as his national co-chair and economic and technology adviser.
