Day 21

Spoke with Kevin Matheson at Technisource this morning. Confirmed that he got the message I left for him yesterday concerning a position that might be right for me. He said they had heard from the HR contact at the client and they had specifically asked about me. They felt I would be a good fit for the position.

The HR contact indicated that the position was going to be opening up sooner than they expected, but they still didn’t have a firm enough date to be given to me or the recruiter. Kevin said he would be talking to the account manager for the client today, who would be meeting with the customer this afternoon. He will see what can be done to push the situation along, especially since I had a second interview for another position and could be unavailable soon.

Spoke with Becky Gleason at Oxford International. She found my resume on BradReese.com. The position was in New York. I advised her that due to a family situation, I needed to remain in the Kansas City area. She will keep my name on file for when she has something come up in this area.

Got an email from Lance Boecker of TekSystems about a Network Admin position at a nearby pharmaceutical company. The position looks interesting, so Lance is going to send my resume to them for consideration. This would be an ideal position as it would be a five-minute drive from my house, versus the 45-minute drive I had been making before I was laid off.

Found one job on Craigslist and applied for that. Nothing new on CareerBuilder or Dice.
