Microsoft Windows Mobile has been given the Common Criteria’s Common Criteria Certification. CC is an internationally approved set of security standards that provides a clear and reliable evaluation of the security capabilities of various tech products. Security-conscious customers, such as the U.S. federal government, require such certification before purchasing. Jason Langridge a.k.a Mr. Mobile, writing in his MSDN blog, comments: “By meeting the security criteria for EAL2+, Windows Mobile 5.0 with Messaging and Security Feature Pack and Windows Mobile 6 operating systems are accepted under the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) by 24 members worldwide.”
