The winner of Tech 2000’s CCNA Lab Simulator is:

Marion Haines, 59, a network administrator for the Board of County Commissioners in Brevard County, Fla. He’ll be using the lab to prepare for the CCNA test. “I’ve had the training and experience (about 8 years using Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc), but never took the time for the test.  This will help prep me for it in a more formal fashion. I’m sure it will also remind me of things I should know, but rarely use,” he says.

At the Board of County Commissioners, which is a near all-Cisco shop, Haines is responsible for a WAN consisting of approximately 50 sites using Frame Relay, cable/DSL connections and VPN connections.  He’s also responsible for the LAN hardware that supports approximately 1,500 nodes and 13, relatively new, wireless access points used in the county’s major meeting rooms. Haines also configures and supports the county commissioners’ Internet-firewall and departmental-firewall systems in various locations throughout the county.

Congratulations to the winners!
