Day 38
Went to an interview with the insurance service company arranged for by Jeff Bluitt from Paige Tech LLC. He met me at the client, but when the client came to get me for the interview, they left him in the lobby.
The interview didn’t go much better than the phone interview did. Don’t know why they brought me in. I don’t get the impression they know what they are looking for. Internal problems within the company were alluded to that concerned me, indicating that money would appear to be a little tight for an operation that needed to do significant modernization by their own admission.
I was told the interview should last for two hours, but I was out the door in a little over an hour. Didnt know what questions to ask during the interview as I wasnt getting enough information from them as to what they were looking for and specific things that were important to them. Called Jeff when I got out the door and told him what had happened. Don’t see this one as one I will move forward with. Didn’t get a warm feeling about this being a place that I wanted to work at.
On the way home, I stopped by for a meet and greet with Justin Stancil with Modis. He wanted to go over a few things on my resume to see about presenting me to their other clients. He saw the VOIP experience that I had and he wanted to get me in front of one of their clients. The account manager for the client was in the office but was tied up on a conference call. Justin asked for a couple of references before sending my information over to the client. Will be curious to see how things work out.
Found 2 jobs on CareerBuilder and 1 on Craigslist. Applied for all of them. Heard back from one of the recruiters handling a position on Craigslist. Exchanged several phone calls and emails answering their questions, making minor changes to my resume to address the position. The position on Craigslist was for BCD Travel for a Security Administrator position.
