Cisco IOS versus Juniper JUNOS

Sometimes vendors get locked into their marketing spiel. Juniper has been blasting Cisco for having many operating

systems while at the same time experiencing its own “operating system” creep through acquisitions. Cisco professionals train and train to master IOS and everything else about Cisco gear. But it can still be a pain-in-the you-know-what to have to figure out new versions of IOS for every new piece of equipment (IOS-XR anyone?).

This Network World article is a nice analysis between the two companies marketing jibes. But if you could tell the folks at Cisco how to change IOS, what changes would you have them make?
