Day 45
Got an email from Lance at Teksystems. He let me know that the position at Embarq that he had put me in consideration for has been withdrawn.
We exchanged several emails. Looks like the cart may have been put before the horse. Given the current market conditions, they may have decided to hold off until things get a little better.
Heard from Jessica at Kforce Professional. She called to give me a heads up on the position she had put me in consideration for. She told me that they are the only agency working with this customer on the position. They have been slow to move on things in the past, so I shouldn’t take it as a bad sign because I haven’t heard anything as yet.
Jessica asked about my management background in the past couple of jobs. Since I didn’t have what the customer was looking for, we mutually decided that I wouldn’t be put in consideration for the position.
I was contacted by Melissa Holmes at LRS Consulting Services. She asked me if I was interested in a position that was detailed in the email she sent me. I advised her that I had already interviewed twice for the position and hadn’t heard any more from the prospective employer. She responded back that they were getting the same feedback from others that had interviewed. We exchanged a series of emails where she asked me about what I was looking for in a prospective employer.
Checked the job boards. Found a Cisco Architect position at Levi, Ray & Shoup. It looks like they are a recruiting firm similar to several of the others I have been talking to. Expect it to be several days before I hear anything as to whether they want to talk to me or not.
Found a Network Manager position on CareerBuilder this afternoon. Applied for it. There was a contact name in the job posting but no other information to indicate the recruiter or company that was posting the position. Have put this on the `wait and see’ list to see if I hear anything about this position.
Ran through all the job postings on Dice to see if I had missed anything. Found 2 job postings that I appeared to have missed. Applied for both jobs. Added those to my applied jobs spreadsheet.
