Blogger Joe Panettieri has an interesting post regarding next week’s Cisco Live! customer conference in Orlando. It will be the official coming out party for new CTO Padmasree Warrior, he notes; and there will be five major themes Cisco will tackle at the conference.
Among them, Panettieri writes, are the shortage of IT talent, Cisco’s momentum on its Data Center 3.0 initiative, progress on green initiatives, how the network is the center of the collaboration universe, and Warrior’s vision on where Cisco places its technology bets. Cisco might also provide an update on its progress in competing with Microsoft and Google in the software arena, Panettieri hopes.
But the highlight will be Warrior’s debut. Cisco nabbed her from Motorola in late 2007 but she’s been MIA to the media since then. There’ll be plenty of buzz around her next week.
