A long weekend and a welcome

A long weekend closes. I am weary and beat. My calves feel like somebody has been punching them, and I haven’t had a chance to shave. This, in effect, is what some of us have to go through when we want to reconfigure any sort of server environment the hard physical way: yanking cables, moving racks around, and generally just working oblivious to the passing of time. But then there is something new for me at the end of it all. I am coming here now in between my hours to write and share on something we have all come to know: Google. I have a relationship with Google in a way. Maybe not an intimate one, but through my brother and his wife I have had an opportunity to tour their headquarters in California. While I have my skepticisms, well earned in my years of dealing with companies, Google comes off as something a little different. From the trusted Gmail to the wildly outrageous (and perhaps for real) Virgle, Google has supplemented the world with a great deal of exciting technology. I leave this as my opening; an invitation for you to join me as I explore blogging Google and how it might likely impact IT or the world.
