DEMOfall08 is turning its attention to the venture capitalist industry at the moment with a panel moderated by Matt Marshall, editor and CEO of VentureBeat.

Here’s how Marshall set the scene: The VC industry pours $20 billion into new companies every year, an “acceptable return” is considered to be 15%, and the VCs on average own about 50% of the companies.

There’s no way everyone can win.

“That’s basically not possible,” he says. “That’s 60 YouTubes every year.”
