Off to the polls with my son

I’m heading out early with the hope of keeping my wait reasonable.

What’s really cool is that my 7-year-old son, Grant, asked last night if he could tag along.  He just got up and he’s still excited, although I’m not sure that he’s really sure what to expect.

Good luck at your own polling places.

(Update: We’re back and it took about an hour even. There were maybe 50 people already lined up when we arrived at our polling place; by the 7 a.m. opening that had swelled to maybe 200. Voting was a snap and Grant was tickled to get to slide our ballot into the optical scanner (ah, paper, wonderful paper). As we were leaving, the line snaked around the side of the school; maybe 300 or 400 people. All-in-all, a painless process and great civics lesson for Grant.)
