Akamai posted this note to its customers on its portal:
[Jun 05, 2007 18:31 EDT] – On Tuesday June 5, 2007 at approximately 12:00 PM GMT the internet border gateway protocol (BGP) experienced a brief drop in traffic routing efficiency resulting in a decrease in general internet availability. Akamai’s edge network was able to mitigate the majority of impact – but customers may notice a slight traffic dip at this time reflecting this internet activity interruption.
I didn’t notice the Web as being slow, but my cable system was having odd problems last night.
